Maldives and China enjoy long and deep relations which have been nurtured through sustained commitment by both countries. The opening of the first Embassy of Maldives in China in 2007 coincided with the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Maldives and China and I am greatly honoured to be the first Ambassador of my country in China. I am confident that with the opening of our Embassy, the close and friendly relations between our two countries and its peoples will be further consolidated in the years ahead.
