THE EMBASSY
The Embassy of the Republic of Maldives in China was established on 20 August 2007. The Maldivian National Flag was hoisted at the Embassy for the first time by the Head of Mission, Mr. Ahmed Latheef on Friday, 31 August 2007.
On 3 December 2007, the Government of Maldives appointed Mr. Latheef as the Ambassador of Maldives accredited to the People’s Republic of China. His Excellency Mr. Latheef presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency Mr. Hu Jintao, President of the People’s Republic of China on 3 April 2008.
